I may be biased, but in my humble opinion, Virginia is a mecca for adventure. Hiking, biking, paddle sports, snow sports and so much more, await outdoor loving folks who want experience some genuine fun in Virginia’s Great Outdoors.
Speaking of genuine fun…ever wondered what it would be like to swing among the tree tops like Tarzan? Well, wonder no longer. Massanutten Resort in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley recently announced the opening of the newest addition to their zip line and ropes adventure course, the 750-foot Mega Zip! This addition, just in time for the busy winter sports season, is sure to turn up the fun notch at Massanutten, which already boasts abundant outdoor activities.
So how do I know? Recently, during a visit to the resort for meetings, I had the opportunity to tour the resort and try the existing zip line and ropes course in person. Sadly, the Mega Zip was still under construction at the time, but if the rest of the course is an indicator, then the Mega Zip is sure to put a child-like smile on your face regardless of your age.
Mega Zip is 300 feet longer than the longest zip line I experienced, which was an absolute blast. What’s even cooler is that the Mega Zip has dual zip lines so two people can experience the 750-foot action simultaneously. Zip line races anyone?
Below are a few things to keep in mind.
- Tickets are $10 for one trip and $15 for two trips.
- The Mega Zip is open on weekends only until ski season begins and its operation is weather dependent. It will be open all winter, except during thunderstorms, snow, ice or high wind.
- The Mega Zip operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations are sure to fill up quickly so call (540) 289-4042 to reserve your spot ASAP.
