Summer is the time to get out and enjoy all the music festivals Virginia has to offer. In July, the great music festivals are not slowing down. Lovers of everything from bluegrass to blues to classical will find something to do this month.
Wintergreen Summer Music Festival – Roseland, Va.
July 6 – Aug. 7, 2016
The Wintergreen Summer Music Festival is a month-long celebration which includes more than 200 performances and events. Many performances will be held at the Dunlop Pavilion at Wintergreen Resort, and at other local venues.
Red Wing Roots Music Festival – Mount Solon, Va.
July 8-10, 2016
The Steel Wheels present a 3-day event celebrating music and outdoors at Natural Chimneys Park. The festival will include craft beer, cycling, multiple stages, camping and great music from some of the biggest names in roots rock including The Lone Bellow, Dawes, and The Steel Wheels.

Tazewell County Old Time & Bluegrass Fiddlers’ Convention – Tazewell, Va.
July 8-10, 2016
A weekend of traditional mountain music, flat foot dancing, parking lot jamming, band competitions, and more will be taking over Tazewell. The festivities begin with youth performances and an outdoor Dance on the Green, followed by a showcase of local talent. Musicians of all ages will compete throughout the weekend in Youth Competition, individual instrument categories and duets, including guitar, fiddle, and banjo. A group jam of current and past honorees to “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” a Gospel church service and bluegrass and old time gospel music in the Red Barn are a few of the weekend’s activities.
Shenandoah Valley Music Festival – Orkney Springs, Va.

One of the mid-Atlantic region’s longest-running outdoor music events, the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival presents world-class music by a stellar array of performers. Acts performing this year include Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Eileen Ivers, LeeAnn Rimes, and Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers.
Winchester Blues House Music Festival – Winchester, Va.

Now going into its 17th year, The Winchester Blues House Festival is the largest Blues music festival in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and Northern Virginia. The lineup this year includes John Nemeth, Kelly Richey, and Anthony Rosano & The Conqueroos.
FloydFest – Floyd, Va.
July 27-31, 2016.
FloydFest is a 5-day celebration of music and art with 10 stages and more than 50 performers nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. 2016 performers include the Gregg Allman Band, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Keller Williams, and Elephant Revival. The 80-acre mountain plateau also offers camping, a progressive ‘Global Village’ area of workshops and demonstrations, children’s activities and over 100 artisans and crafters.
